So the big day is over and now you have all this decor and miscellaneous items you just don't know what to do with. Well this blog post is going to give you a few ideas on what to do with all those items.
Resell
- With applications like Facebook Marketplace, Offer Up and Let Go, it is easier than ever to sell items that you no longer need. Couples are always looking for a way to save money on their weddings- so buying your slightly used items is something they are looking for. For example, I purchased 10 burlap runners off a website and I resold them for just slightly less than I bought them for. It takes a little bit of effort but you can make some good money back.
Turn into home decor
My husband build two large barn doors for our wedding entrance - we have those barn doors saved and when we get our own house we are going to hang them as those fancy HGTV sliding doors.
Another thing we did was take the windows we used for the seating chart - I had pictures printed and we placed the picture in each pane and hung it. The faux greenery from the arch - I used to accent the windows and the Z & L lettering we used on our wall.
I also took all the picture frames I had bought for specialty signs and I used them for our wedding photos or I used them to frame a phrase from each of our vows.
If you bought a bunch of lanterns - hang those from your porch to make a romantic area.
ReGift
Any lanterns or specialty items that would make a great gift - go ahead and gift them. No shame in that! Bought a bunch of vases - fill with candy and give to co-workers for a christmas gift.
Save to use during holidays
Some items might lend themselves to the seasons - like a glass jar - you can fill with different season items.
